   One commercial’s theme on games last night – picking the winners based on the the mascot names and it’s impact on the world.

   Living with a basset hound is a life of co-exisiting. My basset doesn’t order me around, and likewise I reciprocate.

   Having excellent meal manners is assumed, though.

   I was on a road trip out to the Big Bend area of Texas last week. Spent a lot of time with my 12 year old granddaughter – who is incredible. I was showing her how to use a circular slide rule :-) (I’m a USAF Navigator from the old days, and can also use a sextant to get across the pond, and we talked about that at the McDonald Observatory) .

   I am in the same boat as Rat. I live out in the country. I pay for DISH, even though I do not watch about 99% of the channels in my package. However, it does allow me to quickly change channels on a Saturday afternoon/evening during college football season. If I’m not attending a game in person, it’s my thing to cycle through several games – tough to do when streaming.

   My streaming service just is not reliable enough to count on it during critical times – that being college football.

   So I just pay for it all. Satellite, internet – I even have a land line, as my mobile phone doesn’t pick up a half bar when I’m at home and the internet is down (such is life in the Texas Hill Country when you live on the side of a little hill).

   Will need to figure out how to go to a satellite connection.

   First world problems, I know…

   Sending warm wishes to all the first responders fighting the grass fires out here, and thankful for the upcoming bluebonnet season :-)

   Ziggy, my basset hound, Earl, has the same problem. He hangs his head out of his pickup’s window, and makes people smile , even on every weekend :-) Earl brings people joy daily, even on the weekends. So, thanks to Ziggy and Earl.

    It’s nonsensical.

    When someone says “i get an extra hour…” I want to just tell them how incredibly stupid they are. (I don’t like to tell people they are stupid, btw)
