Learned to read with my brothers' comic books. Often got chased out of the house by my mom on pretty summer days, but I showed her.... I took my comic books to read outside, usually in a tree somewhere. Today, I have a subscription to a real, 7-days-a-week, locally owned newspaper and the comics page is the first thing I read every morning.

OK…. but I don’t see how that applies to this US election.

Wow. That’s sad for you. I see statistics about people who don’t read, and I’m always amazed by it. I can’t imagine not reading.

How is winning by just around 1.5% a landslide? Only in your dreams.

Actually, it’s been more around 60% past few presidential elections. Still too low.

Depends on which you do first, read or watch. But I read Forest Gump then saw the movie, and the movie was 10x better.

I prefer them at some stores, like Aldi, where clerks are made to rush and have damaged items throwing them in the cart.

When I see statistics about how few books people read after high school or after college, I am flabbergasted. I cannot NOT read. This year I’ve read around 20 novels, bios, and memoirs, and listened to almost 20 others while walking. What I don’t read much of anymore is magazines. But books? Can’t imagine not reading books.

I am reminded of the classic self portrait of Norman Rockwell!
