And what he obviously doesn’t understand about cooking is that cooking is akin to art, in that there’s room for interpretation, latitude for a little more of this, a little less of that, to taste. It’s only in baking, which is more like a chemistry equation, where precise measurements are more critical.
“Barristas” are just retail sales clerks who happen to make coffee. They need to drop the attitude and get over themselves! They’re another luxury that we can do without. We don’t “need” $5 cups of coffee, and we don’t “need” barristas!
Nothing about the TSA procedures actually contributes to safety, either. It’s for show. Heck some of the people doing the screening aren’t even US citizens. They’re waiting on a green card! If you want real airport security, don’t try to reinvent the wheel. Ask the Israelis. All of the countries around them want them dead. If there’s anyone who knows an effective and efficient way to really find the terrorists, it’s them. Our TSA is a joke! So are the no-fly lists, but that’s a rant for another ’toon…
Law-abiding citizens are not the problem. It’s the criminals, who are already law-breakers, that are the problem. And no, those quoting statistics here are conveniently twisting them to serve their socialist agenda. The reality is that legal gun ownership is at an all-time high, and crime is at an all-time low. Coincidence? I don’t think so. People use knives, baseball bats, tire wrenches and cars to commit crimes and kill people all the time. But I don’t see anyone advocating making it illegal to drive to a ball game, making it illegal for a private citizen to change one’s own flat tire, or making it illegal to attempt to cut a steak with a utensil other than a fork. As Disraeli said, “There are three kinds of lies. There are lies, there are damned lies, and there are statistics.” If the hoplophobes and the socialist left-leaners would shut up, there’d be no problem. Put a “season” on gang members and thugs — no problem. Remove the gangstas, thugs and criminals from the population, no problem. Heinlein had it right.
@MeGoNow Ditto. And it’s usually the hoplophobes who haven’t bothered to educate themselves on the topic before forming an opinion… Education and information are wonderful things.
