   when I was young, there was no dishwasher. My grannys house already had warm water at that time – but to wash dishes we hat two huge bowls, one with soap, one without. I usually had to dry the dishes with a cloth, since I would not do the washing good enough for her. and the order was glass, dishes and then utensils and pots. And if you had to wash dishes like that a few times after a birthday party, you really took care, not to leave the dishes too dirty: to change the water was an effort after all.

   It was a small farm – but it was always clean.
