   And there’s nothing wrong with that, it’s a wonderful quirk of life. As we live and learn life’s lessons we all change, some for the good and some for the bad. When I went into the service I supported the Viet Nam war, by the time of my discharge I realized I was wrong and changed my position. So the kid has a nose ring, I wouldn’t be surprised if in a couple of years she removes it. This too shall pass.

   The 60’s had Nixon and Ford, 4 years of Carter in the 70’s and then 8 years of Reagan followed by 4 years of GHB which is when the rise of censorship began. It wasn’t the ACLU filing complaints with the FCC, it was the nutf*ck religious right people who didn’t have enough intelligence to just change the dial. Were you born in the late 80’s and missed all that fun?

    Because censorship is political. One of the driving reasons Howard Stern left terrestrial radio was the constant complaints filed against him to the FCC by religious organizations. The rise of the religious right coincides with the rise of book banning and corporations self censoring. Wake up and open your eyes, there was less of a threat of censorship in the 60’s and 70’s than there is now.
