I was today old when I figured out Peppermint Patty lives with just her Dad. And that kind of explains some stuff.

Many people never wanted either of the current presumptive nominees to run. Both too old. Too tired. We need younger blood in the White House (and Congress). So the hand wringing is not that, it’s a sigh of relief. Because VP Harris is a far better choice. The old white men have had their chance and f’d it up for decades if not longer. By every measure I can find, Kamala has a much better chance of getting the vote out and actually winning over the Fox brainwashed masses choice. I’ve never missed a vote for Federal, State or Town elections. But this year I WAS considering just skipping it, because it didn’t seem worth it with Biden running. His bad night and a series of bad moments are well known symptoms of just plain old age that many of us who have cared for elderly parents understand all too well. It was 9 at night. He was tired. But emergencies happen at 9 at night. Emergencies happen after international travel. Now, I’m not worried about the country being in Joe’s hands at the moment because he listens to his advisors (who are sorely doing him wrong right now). But DJT in 4 yrs, when the family Alzheimer’ kicks in? Who would he listen to? No one. Not one person. So yeah, a lot of us are happy that Harris may (please) be the nominee and then the POTUS. It’s not disrespect to see the facts of a matter and be brave enough to speak them. I am, btw, all for limits on elder age in being POTUS. We have a young age limit, why not an old age limit. I’d say 70. Then they’d be 78 after 8 yrs. Congress? 2 terms. Period. Then they are out or you get the inertia that is Washington now. Off my soapbox and on with my disabled pain filled day.

That might be the most depressing thing I’ll read this week. Do that many people really have no concept of critical thinking? They just believe what Fox says? Fox? Who literally went before a court and said they were NOT a news station, but an entertainment channel? No wonder the Red states spend so little on education. What a darn shame.

With reasonable people that would work. With such a divided nation, I don’t see how that could happen. It would swing back and forth depending on who is “in charge”.

Only because the Dem led Congress stopped him.

President Biden, with help from his advisors. Which is how it should be done. You prefer a megalomanic who listens to no one? Still, really hoping Biden sees the forest for the trees and lets VP Harris run. Now that’s a debate I’d pay to see.
