Dr. Midnight: Haven’t you heard? Gilchrist made a bad joke of Peggy King… She’s gone…

So…an opinion…a request…is a negative comment? Wow! What wits you are. Maybe I AM in the wrong place. Too vintage, I guess…like Nancy.

Guy, I get your point; however, Nancy belongs to everyone. You provide the fodder for our senses. Try 1945, in a white swing on a MS farm, a 10-year-old mesmerized by the strong red, yellow, black, and green colors…a world created by whoever had the copyright on Nancy then. I never dreamed that we would still have her—thanks to you— in 2011. All I’m asking for is a bit of balance here. One day Aunt Fritz and her adolescent songs; the next day Nancy and/or Sluggo for us addicts…Have a heart. You are GREATLY appreciated.

Now that Nancy and Sluggo have disappeared and Aunt Fritz has become a political cartoon, I am on the verge of opting out of this website. Enough is enough. Classic comics are sacred, not to be violated by poser artists who abuse the copyright they somehow finagled. Please bring back the simplicity and authenticity of Nancy!

I love the nostalgic quality in looks, tone and characters evoked in the Gilchrists’ Nancy strip. Sluggo is marvelous. I have loved these characters since the early 1940s. What a pleasure to meet them every morning over a cup of Chamomile tea.

I have always loved the Nancy strip since its beginning as Nancy, then as Nancy and Sluggo, and now Nancy again. I keep adding it to my daily email strips but it never seems to show up! What a disappointment every morning…

The Lost Bear is a bit “pap”-py for a 77-year-old. Probably inspirational for sub teens-to-13-year-olds or nostalgia folk. Sweetly provoking without being preachy; but I prefer wry humour that makes me chuckle at myself and life. Thanks for such a variety of wonderful strips. Where are Peanuts’ grandparent comics, Nancy and Sluggo? Would LOVE to read those every day!
