Well, Mrs Horner. I have a different take on the hamster….he spins the wheel out of boredom. He lives in a cage. His life is not adventurous and he doesn’t have to find his own food. What else to do? There’s the wheel.
Truth, Weeder. I’ve moved so many times. Some moves were smooth and organized and others not so much. The secret is in the packing and organization. And purge stuff you haven’t seen or used in a year or more.
When we did our house renovations, we paid the contractors by Zelle and some had magnetic strip where I could swipe my card on their phone. I was skeptical about using magnetic strip so I told them I rather use Zelle and they were good with that too.
Where are you? Where I am, I don’t pay any fees for using credit cards or debit card. I am guessing you live out in the country or live in a small town? There are some cash app that charge for wiring money such as Zelle and Venmo but their charges are small. With mortgage, utility bills, we pay them through our bank website. We add our utility bill, credit cards and mortgage account numbers in our online bank account and enter the amounts each month and press on send button. That’s all it takes. No fees. Our local and state governments don’t add fees for debit or credit card payments either. We pay our property taxes and income taxes online, free of charge. On credit card, they do charge interest for using the card so we avoid using CC – for emergencies only.
Upbeat people find good in everything. It’s just in their nature. That could be annoying sometimes. Luann, you have to FIND the good. LOOK for it. Change your worldview.
And from Mike’s end, cashing the check would be 1. take a picture of it and deposit it via his bank app on his phone or physically drive to the bank to deposit it. Or he is a cash guy, he’d have to go to the bank to cash the check – that one I am glad I don’t have to do anymore. I never carry cash. That’s what the debit card is for. I definitely don’t miss having coins in my purse, especially pennies.
Clearly this strip was not updated. Nobody writes checks anymore these days except perhaps the older generation, the Baby Boomers. If Liz were to pay her parents her rent and utility bill portion, she’d likely be transferring funds from her bank account to a Zelle or Venmo to wire the money or directly into their bank account if she banks with the same banker. Currently I am living in a rental and I Zelle to my landlord. When we had our own house before we sold it, we wired payments directly from our bank account to the mortgage company through their website. I have to say I am glad to be done with checkbooks. They were PIA.
