   I’ve more or less stopped commenting over the past couple of years. But I always appreciate people reading the strip and taking the time to comment, even if they feel compelled to criticize. It’s better to be criticized than ignored completely! Thanks, everyone.

   If I was bothered by criticism, I would have stopped doing the strip long ago. I do think that calling it “trash” is a little rude, but that’s just me. Everyone’s entitled to an opinion.

   Hmm, I’m still getting used to this new-fangled comments section. Anyway, for those who didn’t see this in my earlier reply:

   Yes, the reruns are over! But here’s something I forgot to mention yesterday: because Sunday pages take longer to process than daily comics, there won’t be fresh Big Nate Sunday strips for a couple more weeks. August 5th will mark the re-start of fresh Sunday pages.

   For those who asked, “Max & the Midknights” is coming out in January. It’s not a Big Nate story, but if you liked the Big Nate novels, I promise you will like this.

   And finally: this novel was not the reason for my long absence from the strip. I set work aside because of a family situation. Thanks to everyone who expressed concern or sent good wishes. And, as always, thank you for reading the strip!
