I think this strip makes no sense. Gunther is proven right by what Les says, not disproved. A vocal is only a noun, not a verb, so it gets -ist. Same for violin. But fiddle and sing are verbs, so they get -er.
Go to the Luann comic and search for May 26, 1996. That’s the one missing here. Not sure why it wouldn’t make it here, though. Nothing offensive or problematic about it that I can see.
Aaron Hill moved away, I think to Hawaii. It was time for Luann to grow up and stop obsessing so much. As I recall, he returns once to visit and has a serious girlfriend with him.
Toni comes into the picture when Brad also matures. He goes to firefighting school and meets her there, leading to some issues with her unstable boyfriend at the time, Dirk.
