   I grew up reading his political cartoons in the Dispatch and have always enjoyed his unique, humorous and sometimes thought-provoking views on current events.

   Checked today’s and yesterday’s Dispatch and there was nothing written about his resignation.

   If it is true that Mr. Stahler has resigned from The Columbus Dispatch (not Post Dispatch as written above) it is a great loss for Columbus.

   About a month ago you noticed another name on the strip (Doctor with patient using app) with Jeff Stahler’s name. That person (my neighbor) won a caption writing contest that is held in The Columbus Dispatch.

   Susan,

   I’m not sure where the strip is based, but like myself Mr. Cochran lives in Columbus, Ohio.

   Columbus has some hills but it is definitely not Appalachia.

   Columbus is also lucky to have the talents of Tony Cochran and Jeff Stahler writing/drawing and living in this city.

   I have enjoyed Mr. Cochran’s work since it first appeared in the Dispatch back in 1999 or 2000.

    3hourtour is correct.Stahler works for the Columbus Dispatch . About once a month (on a Saturday) he will publish an unfinished strip for readers to submit the dialog.One of the finalists for this one was “Strike three…you’re DEAD!”None of them for this strip were very good.3hourtour’s dead ball era comment probably would have won had he entered it.
