“no veo un pomo” In Argentina is a well-known phrase, it means “I don’t see anything”.

“Pomo” has in the Río de La Plata the meaning of a flexible bottle with a hole that was used to dip in carnivals.

In the sentences “no veo un pomo”, “no sabe un pomo”, “pomo” means “nothing”. The origin is probably the substitution of other more vulgar words in these sentences, something common in our language.

    De la tira en inglés:

G: ¡Lo siento, por llegar tarde!

    A: ¿Lo sientes?

    G: Eh…

    G: ¡… solo bromeaba!

“quemar etapas” = “burning stages” is translated to “pass phases”, “heading toward”, “improving”, but Gaturro wrote this phases on paper and is literally burning them

“Marco” is translated to FRAME, and re(-)marco (infinitive remarcar) is to highlight, to point out, to emphasize

Seguro es “varitas” lo que perdieron. “Barita” es óxido o hidróxido de bario

“caballos desbocados” y no “caballos de desfile” me parece mejor traducción
