   One characteristic for walkers engaged in earbud conversations is that they can be heard a block or more away.

   Their pet is looking for a squat and not being allowed the time.

   Their lowrider child wants attention and not getting it.

   Something makes a noise loud enough to shake the ground and they say, Hold on. I thought I heard something. Um . . . Anyway as I was saying . . .

   And they stroll on, engrossed and oblivious. Scary

   Same here. Called 2 weeks apart. ’We’ll get back to you.’ They didn’t. Yesterday, I left the usual message with this tag: ’I’d like a reply this time, or I will talk to your boss.’

   No surprise the call came 15 minutes later. Same voice as the one on the answering machine. Suspect she’s a one person service and is either watching tv or texting or both, when she should be on the job.
