    That’s always been a touchstone of mine, too. Motivated the ’don’t give up’ genes when we had things that needed fixing.

    But years ago, when I was a newspaper advertising rep, one very old adman cynic came up with a finish line for that statement.

    And where there’s a way, somebody will.

    Meaning that, in an imperfect world, one can usually find or lend a helping hand where needed.

    For some it seems to begin about age 40 and slows from there. But, that really is a dumb statement to make to a guy with a cane and maybe a bit unhappy with glib comments from people who don’t have a clue.

    I developed a dust allergy early on so I stayed away from dust bags, etc. Mom was lucky, but not always. I wasn’t allergic to much of the other possibilities for mischief.
