   I don’t think so, Kevin. My sense is that he didn’t know that other “secondary” context. If he had, I think he might have thought twice about using it, knowing how controversial it would be even to mention it. Either that, or he absolutely knew what it meant and was attempting to stir up that controversy. But why would he do that? Look at the degree of controversy it’s caused on this very forum!

   You don’t need to “see” firearms in the comic, J. You need only know what the secondary context of that term means. Anyone who knows firearms or is pro2A will know that particular context and associate it with that, once they see it. There is actually, a bit of an marketing campaign centered around it…. T-shirts, coffee mugs, ball caps, etc. etc. all advertising, “The Pew Pew Life…” referencing, of course, the “firearms” context, not the “fragrance” context. I realize that might be offensive to some, and if anyone here has taken offense to it, or to my mentioning it, that was not my intention. It was only to point out that the firearms context does exist and that G & K needed to be a bit more careful about using it, albeit quite innocently here (I think).

   I dunno folks…. G & K should be a bit more careful with their terminology. “Pew Pew” has a secondary context they may not know of… in the world of Firearms/Marksmanship. “Pew… Pew” is the sound shooters describe as being made by a small caliber weapon (mostly a .22 caliber) when they fire it.

   OK, this “roomie” relationship between Tiff and Stef is being set up for total disaster. Either TIff tries to take Kip or Stef and Tiff just continue to go at it until one of them leaves. I dunno about this. I vote that Stef leaves and takes Kip with him. I think Tiff can do better… much better.

   Has she resolved her “financial” issues? Is that not what caused her to move out of the dorms in the first place (i.e. father wasn’t going to pay for on-campus housing)? Or is he now willing to pay for it?

   I guess we’ll see.
