President Emmanuel Macron and Marine Le Pen, the French far-right leader, are facing off tonight in a critical debate ahead of Sunday’s runoff vote.Macron has called an election months ahead of the typical time, to try to stay in power.
Were there replacement panels not quite covering the bottom row? I expected to see them run outside to the snow to get the steam effect. Or perhaps it was a glitch in the algorithm for placing the daily panels. How I miss Watterson.
Hmmm… I’ve always interpreted “with whom he is pleased” to mean that he isn’t necessarily pleased by all men and therefore that peace may be limited to those men who please him. Ah commas. They matter.
I hope that sharing this experience will be at least as healing for Allison as whatever the medical folks do. We are reminded that we usually don’t know what goes on in others’ lives and should default to compassion.
