   I have one of those adapters. It works fine for listening to audio, but using it for voice is $#@!! I’ve yet to find a good wired headset for USB-C or using the USB-C dongle (on my Samsung) that is good for talking to people. I always get complaints that I sound distant.

   This is not a problem specific to Apple. Standard headphone ports have been removed from most phones (Apple and Android). With virtually any modern phone, you must either use Bluetooth wireless headphones or USB-C wired headphones.
