I’ve dislocated my right shoulder so badly after 5 falls that I decided to go to my ortho doc who replaced both my knees. He did an MRI, pronounced my shoulder to be a “hot mess” and he could neither replace nor repair it. So cortisone shots every 3 months. I’ve realized how very right handed I am, trying to use my left arm. Constant pain and finding it hard to lift a glass of water or a coffee cup. I’ve switched to a plastic water “glass” (yuck) and a thin tin coffee cup. Sigh. It’s make do or rearrange my whole living room so I can have a wee table on my left side.
Many people think the word mutt is an insult. I’ve had some of the best rescue dogs that were the smartest dogs ever! I have one now. He’s a wire haired terrier mix (vet’s guess) and he picked me! I had told the rescue I didn’t want a boy. As he was taken out of his crate, he looked directly at me and I was a goner.
I make my chocolate sauce with 1 or 2 tbsp of chocolate chips, about the same amount of cream. Put in microwave for about 35 seconds, stir until smooth and add ice cream! Never fails!
I’m one who NEVER wanted a tattoo. In 2011 my daughter was in Iraq. She sent a pic of her new tattoo, a heart with a banner that said MOM.I was at a festival that had tattoo artists, so I got a tiny red heart over my heart. That was all the pain I could take.
My daughter and I had ice cream sundaes after dinner tonight. I get out two coffee mugs, pour about 2 tablespoons of chocolate chips in each. Then about equal amount of cream over the chips then nuke them together for 60 to 90 seconds. Stir until chips n cream are smooth and ready for vanilla ice cream. This method of making hot fudge is better than any ready made I’ve bought.
I grew up with horses, riding in front of my dad before I could walk. When I built my house on the farm in the late 70s, I immediately got horses and my daughter took after me in loving them. I finally gave up getting more after my last 2 died of old age, because I cannot lift 50 lb. bags of feed, or a hay bale anymore. The curse of getting close to 80 yrs old.
I hug my dog n he hugs me multiple times a day. I was so blessed when he picked me at the rescue lady’s house. We’re a mutual admiration society!
