mr_sherman Premium

Veteran, Engineer, lover of great storytelling and craft brews. I'm 72 and on my second marriage and have been retired for just over four years. Sherman's my middle name. It was my Grandfather's first name. That's where I got it from, not the tank. My new avatar is from a recent comic that reminded me of Wally from the Western Airlines commercials.

Be glad it’s not Mr. Claus.

Technology: Do you know how an automobile works? I do. Do you know how that thing you’re typing on works? I do. Do you know how the internet works? How about electrical generation? Hydraulics? Pneumatics? I do.

Physics: Can you explain how Newton’s laws of motion can explain everyday actions? How about why CO2 can’t exist in a liquid form on earth?

Biology: Not all animals have X and Y genes. Can you explain what causes the separation into sexes of these animals?

I have grown tomatoes from the seeds of tomatoes I planted as seeds and they produced.

I can specify a lot. I don’t waste it on those who already “know” everything.

Your statements over the years have shown you have little, if any knowledge of science. It’s all black and white to you and doesn’t change. That’s religion, not science.

All I’ve seen has only room for one person. What’s the issue?

I’m reminded of an old “MAD” magazine cartoon (I know, there isn’t any other kind) where what was found was actually the top cap to a large pyramid in the background.

If you’re Scottish, the sound of bagpipes will bring tears to your eyes.
