Not long ago I had a water pump off a Continental forklift engine that had four counter sunk slotted screws on the back cover that were stuck fast. Sacrificial HF screwdriver welded on each side, break it loose, skinny wheel it off and repeat.
I had a $50 Chevy Citation, neighbor down the street just wanted to get rid of it. Had some rear corner damage and a few other issues but was quite driveable.
