You pee in the cup, then use a dropper (included in the kit) to place three drops of urine on the test paper contained in a plastic thing—she’s holding it. The urine soaks the paper and if it’s positive, a stripe will appear in the area of the paper that reacts with hCG. It’s not a dipstick, where you’d stick the strip in the cup and read a result, like you’d do for urine glucose or ketones.
