An older comic/tv/movie fan who finds the comments section appalling, trite, superfluous, aggravating, irrelevant and idiotically self indulgent. But hey; its another form of social media, innit? And everyone wants to reach out and connect; even if it's anonymous and uninvited.

IMHO, the 1938 Superman comic is an interesting survivor of historical pop culture. Why anyone would release 6 million dollars just to make it their own is somewhere north of an abomination! I suppose it’s just another example of some folks who have so much money they have to expend it on something! No sense of discernment. Of course, everyone’s idea of what is important varies as much as fingerprints. So, if it doesn’t do harm, then fund your party; be aware, however it does no good either. But it is your capital, isn’t it?

I have always ascribed to “I may disapprove with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it!” This quote has often been ascribed to the French philosopher Voltaire but was written by his biographer Evelyn Beatrice Hall to illustrate his way of thinking. I still believe this is a free country; imperfections and all!

It’s likely that the reason for producing so much fake and/or adulterated products is such that the real money and technology go to the much more important production of weapons of mass destruction to accomplish world domination! Which, I believe, is the true agenda of this countries’ bureaucrats!

Just to be clear; “Hollywood” in this context refers to a place, not an industry!

Why does RBION leave it to the commenters to correct the captions/factoids of the comic?

At risk of sounding “nit picking”, that was the famous hill side sign; not the town.

As I remember (always a tenuous endeavor), Edison didn’t invent the light bulb, but rather developed the first commercially viable light bulb. Much the same as Henry Ford didn’t “invent” the assembly line, but used it to the most successful application resulting in huge financial reward!
