…yeah, no, that one I’d have a bit harder time believing. Any of the Apollo missions weren’t exactly something you could just stowaway on, given the cramped interior of the capsule. Plus, the added weight of an extra crewmember would’ve been enough to notably alter the behavior and movement of the capsule once in space that NASA wouldn’t have planned for, so she would’ve been legit endangering both mission and crew trying that.
“Panting” can also just be interpreted as being winded/out of breath and breathing heavily from the exertion, something humans do on the regular. I don’t see why horses (or unicorns) can do the same.
And I didn’t get one myself until I was well into my twenties (and even then just a cheap flip phone), all because I didn’t feel I actually truly needed one until then. I know of another person who’s in their thirties who still doesn’t have a phone right now and feels he has no need for one. Which should be the real rule of thumb on when a person does or does not get a phone—get it because you really do need it, not because you want it.
But as I said, we would be the exceptions to the current trend for the average person, like it or not. But so long as we’re fine with being the exceptions, then never mind what everybody else thinks.
Yes, absolutely. There’s a reason why words “go out of style,” so to speak—it’s because the speaking users of the day no longer have so pressing a need for such a word, or have since devised other ways to convey the same concept that has become preferred. Which is fine—it’s just part of the evolution of language.
