Apparently, any unhappiness on the part of a husband is considered irrelevant. The wife is supposed to be the Center of the Universe, and only her feelings matter.
Calling Hobbes a figment of Calvin’s imagination is not too simple. It’s the explanation that makes sense. Saying Hobbes is “real” to Calvin amounts to the same thing. The same thing goes for Calvin traveling to other solar systems in a tiny spaceship while sitting in class, time traveling to the age of the dinosaurs, becoming a mile tall, transmogrifying, etc etc. I’ve never understood why some people think it “spoils” the strip to acknowledge that Calvin imagines these things.
I said IF she find out that her daughter is lying to her, which excludes the case where Elizabeth sells the lie. It’s pretty obvious at this point that Elly isn’t buying it. Lying is worse than making a stupid mistake. Much worse. So will Elly’s reaction.
The last calculator I bought was an HP model. I had to buy it, because it was one of the only ones allowed for the Engineer’s License exam. It was very reasonably priced. Of course, I have an HP41 simulator on my phone. :)
