This reminds me of an encounter my mother told me she had on a flight. She was seated right next to Studs Terkel, a Pulitzer Prize winning author & oral historian, who she just happened to be a fan of. She said they had a wonderful conversation that became one of her cherished memories…
Kind of reminds me of how Sheldon, from “The Big Bang Theory”, gets about gift-giving, which, in one show, led to what is probably the funniest scene in that whole series, the Leonard Nimoy napkin scene:
