   You do realize Ivlax that this is a comic strip and have jokes in it, right? And as such it’s fiction, intended as entertainment for it’s audience, of which you are a member. As with all fiction, there is an implied knowledge that these are characters and not real people, but they must be real enough to entertain. You also realize that the service that presents this entertainment, provides a space below for the audience to respond with their thoughts on the quality of the product, i.e. whether or not they thought the humor works.

   Rusty Pumpkin!? You have a future inventing color names for cars. Of course “rusty” wouldn’t do for a car.

   I’ve given that some thought. When the strip started, Luann was a typical girl in her early teens; a little confused, a little unlucky, a lot insecure. Mostly she was a can’t-catch-a-break lovable mess. Then she started to develop, got some interests, won a couple battles, got a boyfriend. For some reason, this did not work at all for the Evans’, who knows why? Maybe readership declined. Maybe they didn’t know where to go with it. But they transformed her into a can’t-buy-a-clue dimbulb, who they are comfortable making the butt of jokes. As to why Karen continues to do it, that’s easy. It’s her job. It’s what she does. It puts food on the table and clothes on her back. That’s my conclusion. If I’ve gotten a little long winded, just call me PT.

   I think her saying “full of” in the last panel was also part of the BS joke. It does make Lu look pretty air headed, but I think Karen hates her.

   I think that the “BS” on the shirt was the intended joke of the strip. At least I hope it was.

   Those musicians knew what they were doing … and they did it well.

   Probably the best part of the movie, which I found cheesy and far fetched a lot of the time. But portraying the indomitable human spirit – I’ll take that any time.
