History does not record anywhere at any time a religion that has any rational basis. Religion is a crutch for people not strong enough to stand up to the unknown without help. But, like dandruff, most people do have a religion and spend time and money on it and seem to derive considerable pleasure from fiddling with it. A quote from R. A. Heinlein that I agree with.

Give to the charity of your choice! Don’t wait for the government to take your money, skim 50% for overhead, and then study binge drinking in Chinese prostitutes.

Avoid ‘charities’ where the head makes a 6 figure salary and perks like Red Cross, Goodwill (which NEVER gives anything back), March of Dimes, etc.

Donate used goods to Disabled American Vets or Habitat Restore or Salvation Army.

Do your research and give what you can when YOU want to.

Know how to avoid change?Never break a dollar!

Give to the charity of your choice. (Don’t wait for the government to start a “program” and skim 50% off the top for ‘administration’.Donate unused items to charities like the DAV, Habitat For Humanity Restore, (Never “Goodwill”)

Never look down on others for their choices to help/not help, etc. You just make yourself into a judgmental anal orifice.

My “congregation” belongs to the Church of God, The Wholly Indifferent”. The main tenet is that God started the universe and then went on vacation and hasn’t returned.

And let’s not forget that when Quid Pro Joe was on tape bragging about withholding funds from the Ukrainians until they fired the Burisma prosecutor, that wasn’t really him.

Always use three sources. Where the facts agree, there is truth. The rest is usually biased based on the writer/editorial viewpoints. Using a foreign source adds perspective. And don’t just ‘follow the media’, check it.

Yeti’s are about as real as anthropogenic climate change. That doesn’t mean the climate doesn’t change, which it does, but the causes are mostly natural. As an example, the Antarctic ice started melting over 7500 years ago. The last Ice Age ended over 10,000 years ago. Why?
