Well, the Republican representatives are even making public statements about using nuclear weapons against innocent civilians and that they want to commit genocide on all people who sympathise with murdered Palestinian babies, so you unfortunately have to gradually long-term change the Democratic party from within with more people like Bernie Sanders rather than completely give up and let totalitarian pure satanic social-Darwinian evil and bigotry take over the country, and indoctrinate virtually everybody into thinking like literal Nazis, with all aberrations systematically silenced and exterminated, and then let loose that utterly xenophobic supremacist horror of a superpower on the rest of this world.

The current far right capitalist oligarchy is really evil, yes, but at least there is a possibility to long-term change things for the better, rather than let the entire country be burned to the ground and hope that something better will emerge from the ashes.

I would very strongly recommend that you subscribe to Bernie Sanders’ two YouTube channels and extensively listen to what he has to say.

I have found the antics of Tiffany and Bets rather amusing. If all comic strip characters were acting like the most levelheaded and emotionally stable real life people, they wouldn’t be funny anymore.

Also, this particular storyarc is doing some necessary meta-commentary about Luann’s mostly bland and unchanging nature, as the more stable center of this comic strip, even after her parachute adventure teased emotional development, so hopefully some good breakthrough will come out of it for her as a character.

Coincidentally, the unfortunate authors have to deal with both people who complain due to some characters who act “too” zany compared to real life and other people who complain due to other characters being too dull and “normal”.

As I mentioned in a previous post, David Pakman, Brian Tyler Cohen, and Cenk Uygur had a rather lengthy constructive discussion about this subject in Don Lemon’s YouTube channel, and people like Steve Bannon have apparently thoroughly thought through how they will tear down and rebuild the current system from the ground up, including the FBI and CIA, and informed millions of other fascist loyalists how to do so through his extremely popular “War Room” podcast. It also isn’t remotely rocket science, especially if the MAGA camp gains access to all available positions of power, so I think that you greatly overestimate how resilient the democratic system is against a truly totalitarian and malevolent force with full access to all of it at once.

I am far more worried about that Trump’s many much more well-coordinated and intelligent allies do know exactly how to disassemble all democratic institutions and replace all significant positions of power withing them with fascist loyalists. They are far far more well-organised and prepared than during Trump’s first term, and yes, Trump will get elected unless lots of people who, like me, despise Biden, but at least know that there are good Democrat representatives, whereas all of the Republican representatives are evil to varying degrees, get through their distaste and do what is necessary by choosing the much lesser evil in order to save democracy.

Just another note to please read up on “Project 2025”. From what I have understood, the Trump camp is stating outright that they will dismantle democracy if they are granted power, so this is very unfortunately not the right time to vote on anything other than the Democrats, because once a country as militarily powerful as the United States turns fully, rather than partially, totalitarian, you will very likely never get your democracy back again, and that will also give the other tyrannies of this world the free reign to invade, pillage, and enslave any other countries that they feel like.

The comparatively new experiment of freedom and democracy will be completely over and done with, along with all ideals of compassion and equality, and nobody will do anything to prevent humanity from eventually killing itself through environmental destruction and nuclear warfare.

Going by what I have read or heard of Project 2025, there are genuine plans afoot from the Trump camp to dismantle the United States’ democratic safeguards as much and as quickly as possible.

That is not openminded reasonable discussion, just shallow trolling.

You are generalising a small minority of the most extreme and ultimately mostly powerless progressive extremist zealots with humanitarian leftist idealists in general, and apparently perceiving it as appropriate to install a full-scale tyranny that completely distorts history and systematically brainwashes the population into hate-embracing supremacist pod-people as appropriate “revenge” on everybody because of the small (but loud) minority of mostly powerless progressive extremists.

That is not a good idea to say the least. You are giving a tyrannical xenophobic government the carte blanche authority to do whatever they want to whoever they want, potentially including imperialistic genocide and internal Orwellian surveillance and gulags for everybody who disagree or end up as a convenient scapegoat.

    Agreed.

For what it is worth, I like and appreciate this comic strip.

Yes. There is a scientific study named “Impact of chronic war trauma exposure on PTSD diagnosis from 2006 -2021: a longitudinal study in Palestine”, which found that even back in 2018 almost all of the children of Palestine were greatly traumatised, and currently the negative effects should be far far far worse.
