To be fair, some of the crazy-balls stuff that goes into technical attacks are now starting to sound like movie junk. ASLR deslide to ROP the kernel into mapping a mapping page into userland to flip NX bits? Send nanosecond reset blips to the CPU to run it in “drunk” mode, so it accidentally forgets to unmap the master decryption key before running the external ROM (30c3 5290)?!.
And then there are still websites where the (FORGOT PASSWORD) link emails you your plaintext password. Duh that’s going to get robbed just to train a password hash cracking dict, regardless of how meaningless the website is otherwise. Sigh.
