I used to do that. I think since I knew the toddler was safely being watched; my body would relax for first time in weeks. I fell asleep in a chair almost every time we went to visit my mother in law. Fortunately instead of being offended, she thought it was cute and told her son I was working too hard (which was true). Finally, she said go curl up in guest room and I will get you in a couple of hours. She is the BEST !
Ms Heinz – K – wore sweaters clipped over her shoulders – we made a swim pool with beans, Mrs Pope introduced me to Haikus = they flowed out from me, Mrs Sapp we loved her so much we got the Principal to let us do a Mrs Sapp day to honor her ( I still 40+ years later have a book she gifted me), The Twiggs English teachers neighbors friends and mentors, Mr Grizzel watched the Challenger explode with tears leaking in his eyes our whole physics class was there ( off period) watching too – Mr Kindle who really taught casue and effects of Economics and Politics – a Social studies teacher before his time. Profs H and B who honed an introvert into a thespian. My Art History teacher who I had teh year she retired – she gifted me some of her materials – I used them professionally afterwards doing design work. I remember the good and the awful – the mediocre I forget. There is a special place for teachers – and esp those who work with the special needs kids ( on both extremes).
I was all about a college party – outside my pad- on weekends. My pad was my quiet rest study space. Besides I was lazy and didn’t want to do the clean up.
