   I reckon that a lot of the things that make a little ’un challenging when they are young will make them into decent adults.

   I hear ya….I lived happily for something more than six decades with nary an allergy to anything, loving that spring tradition of having all the windows in the house open overnight, being woken by the birds and smelling the fresh air…for whatever reason, this year my immune system is not cooperating and I regret that open window choice every morning.

   I reckon it is a bad year here too (south coast of BC)…I never noticed before that every single car in the ’hood was yellow….

   Yup, that is what my Mum did as out of spite or any intent to guide me to be more careful with the knees – I reckon she just gave up that – but she used whatever we had for scraps.

   Only good thing was that we weren’t allowed to wear patched clothes to school, so the vaguely embarrasing pants became ‘home’ clothes. By the time I wore out the knees in the new(er) jeans and they were ready for the patches I had grown out of the old ones and they got passed on to some poor cousin.

   Sad part, something more than five decades later, the knees in my jeans still don’t last…and instead of driving my Mum nutters it’s my very patient wife that winds up climbing the walls
