Thanks. So nice to see the gang, and in a modern setting.

All four original Peanuts characters in one strip for the first time — October 18, 1950.

Shermy. It was just CB, Shermy, Patty and Snoopy in the very earliest days. This is the seventh Peanuts strip from October 9, 1950.

Let’s do the time warp again. Back to the beginning. I’ll still follow along. It’s still interesting to see these early strips.

Hound isn’t so bad. Beagles are hounds (hunting dogs), after all.

They should have tinted Snoopy’s face pink in the last panel, since I assume the original shading on his face is to indicate embarrassment.

I only had one. “I’ve got a brand new pair of roller skates/You got a brand new key.” #1 hit in December 1971 – https://youtu.be/RCTMTflcuug

Possibly explains why Snoopy eventually indulges in so much fantasy later on, and has a bird as a best friend.

The song “Junk Food Junkie” went to #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1976, same year as this comic. Junk food had become a hot topic around then.

We had a cat that walked out on a utility wire of some sort (probably a thick one) and my mom had to find something he could walk down since he was too far out to go backwards and too high up to jump down. It’s amazing nobody got electrocuted. He was probably stalking a bird so maybe that’s why Woodstock and his pals want Snoopy there.
