Some Brits, I imagine, have difficulty understanding some of our more prominent dialects and accents. Think of someone from Brooklyn or the True South trying to converse with a Cockney.
The person who said the following is under debate, but I think it’s still accurate: “The United States and Great Britain are two countries divided by a common language.”
I also had one when I was a small boy and loved it. When my son was the right age, I bought one for him, and he loved it, too. However, he never punched or hurt any living thing. Today, he has three little girls, and he is a gentle, loving dad.
It’s happening to me, too. From what I have read, it happens to nearly everyone as aging progresses.
I have also found that background noise seems to my ears to be becoming increasingly louder.
