Reminds me of an ad (I forget what the product was) from a number of years ago featuring an artist with a 4" brush being dipped in different colored buckets of paint and then the paint was slung at the canvas to create spatter patterns. At the end he dipped it once more, then contemplated the canvas to decide if it was done or needed more.

Not necessarily. In New York only someone from a list of certified candidates can be written in. Otherwise, the vote is marked void when the counts are made. So the candidate I would write in cannot be voted for, even though I think she is the the most qualified for the job. Too bad she has no interest in running for President.
I chill my glass with ice, then discard and pour in the martini.
