Went to Aruba once and got the local currency from the airport ATM. At the hotel, I asked them for change for one of the larger bills. They gave it back to me in US dollars. The desk clerk said the shops and workers would prefer to get US dollars.
My dad had a reel mower he bought from Sears. Since he was thrifty, I don’t think he paid more for it than a rotary mower. He said it cut grass better. Nowadays, when I look for one, they are about $1500 US.

We have some downy woodpeckers here and there’s one that like to land on my roof every morning at 6am from the start of March and for 6 weeks or so he hammers on the metal vent cap for our bathroom fan to mark his territory and try to attract a mate. Sounds like a jackhammer trying to come through the roof.
