Brings back old memories of how Tiff used to treat Luann when she was head cheerleader. Shoot, before Ann Eiffel turned her into a somewhat likeable person.
I hate parents who expect their kids to get all A’s. I know someone who was constantly pushed by her parents as a kid. A national Merit scholar and a member of Phi Beta Kappa while in high school because her grades were so great. She went into the profession her father wanted her to go into which was medicine. Got married in college. Later divorced because she decided in her early 30’s that it was time to rebel against her father (her mother had died of cancer in the mid 80’s-she was an opera singer). Started hanging out in rock clubs and posed nude for Playboy. Met some dude who played bass for a semi famous band and later married him. They both started doing heroin and coke and she would eventually die from on OD.
Her family didn’t attend her funeral. Her Dad just couldn’t believe his perfect daughter died that way.
I said that but wasn’t kidding. The people who write this strip are liberal so it would not surprise me one bit if they introduced a character who is gay. It would certainly give new life to this stale strip that keeps relying on the old usual tropes.
Because I was talking about pushy parents. And newsflash-just because you didn’t believe me doesn’t make it untrue.
