I am wondering how all of this is going to pan out. Thinking about past encounters with mutts, they were definitely capable of limited independent action. But except for the fake missile launch that caught Flask off guard (with mutts “manning” the consoles in the control center) mutts usually seem paired with topsiders when going after anthros. So why is this particular effort nothing but a ship of some sort loaded with mutts? Wouldn’t it seem more in character to have at least some topsiders involved?

I guess what I am wondering is the possibility that these mutts might be here to help?

They are definitely on transports, but that is because they are part of the transport infrastructure and under direct control of the operating system. It’s only when the dittos accidently escape into the wild that they become feral and out of control. That’s why the Edmund Fitzgerald operating system was so surprised that Wally had control over the dittos.

Agreed, but there is still the question of feral dittos untouched so far by Wally or Eye. The computer on the Edmund Fitzgerald lamented about the escape of such dittos because they are dangerous when uncontrolled. I believe that feral dittos seemed to be involved when Flask and company tried to sabotage the topsider missile and the topsiders were attacked by gelatinous toothy apparitions. Feral dittos also seemed to be involved in Sparkplug’s hellish, never-ending, tragic end of civilization replay. I believe that some were also involved in attacking Kirbee in the Unity back passages before Holly chastised them and got them to be helpful.

Basically, they seem to be around, but are not usually noticed until they try to frighten the innocent in order to build up their supply of emotional energy in order to survive and to reproduce.

Or if not eating dittos literally, a Lucranian vessel with the ability to provide replicated resources such as food and water (March 15, 20212).

If I recall correctly (January 15, 2015), Wally, Kirbee, and Chick ate a yummy breakfast composed of dittos, after having struggled through a desert with no food or water, then encountering the Edmund Fitzgerald with its many puzzles, and witnessing Holly’s backstory.

Perhaps Wally/Cracky is sensing feral dittos on the beach that could help them all out?

But as the computer on the Edmund Fitzgerald pointed out, the Lucranians scanned the planet and found no virus. The “mutations” are some sort of interaction between this earth and a comic book universe earth. The seemingly infinite versions of the multi-verse are simply chance based, so no actual intelligent plot driving is happening there. Marx and Eye seem to be both observers and actors in the multiverse, with Eye being malicious, and Marx seeming to try to coax some good within the multiverse with its apparent “soul” recycling processes.

So at the moment, I’m waiting to see what Aaron is going to reveal to us regarding a (hopefully) positive outcome for the Endtown instance of the multiverse with its denizens of note.

Wow, thanks for the link. It’d been a while since I had read that part of the story. But even more interesting is the fact that after that part of the story completes (January 17, 2011), we meet Wally for the very first time!

    Thanks!!!

On September 16, 2016, the computer on the Edmund Fitzgerald is explaining to Wally the truth about his world.

“Your earth.. your universe.. exists within one miniscule ripple of a wavelength within the vast reality spectrum..

This wavelength contains billions of reality variants in which all life on earth is destroyed in a world war fought with Amesworth weaponry..

Your live earth is bracketed by unbelievably huge numbers of dead earths.. It simply should not exist within this wavelength.. But here you are..

And as Lucranian salvage vessel captains are not authorized to initiate trade with occupied earths or retrieve goods from them, mine had no choice but to abandon his mission.."

And on September 21,2016 the computer continues

“The Lucranians don’t risk spreading diseases across their interreality trade routes. They did a thorough scan of your world for potential disease threats and found no trace of a mutagenic virus..

That this supposedly mutagenic plague was the catalyst for your world war is, like your survival, an unexplained anomaly.. The wars on earths immediately parallel to yours were triggered by resource shortages.."

So based on this very thorough explanation of the reality spectrum that Wally exists in, it would appear that the Endtown earth (that is, an earth where living inhabitants like anthros in their respective outposts and topsiders in their respective outposts exist) is unique. The unbelievably large number of dead earths (no living beings whatsoever) bracketing either side of the Endtown earth, all destroyed by Amesworth weaponry because of resource shortages on those other earths would seem to indicate that there is no other alternate reality where a living Endtown exists.

Does my surmise seem to make sense?

    Vet, your comment

“The Eden Project had been watching the whole time. They could see all the possible realities including the one they are in. In this reality Endtown was destroyed”

may not be an accurate statement regarding what is, or has been, going on, at least from what I think is likely.
