That’s a fair comment. Let’s see where it takes us. “I don’t know anything about the Gaza situation, I don’t know anything about the history. I don’t know anything about the causus belli or the number of people murdered in this recent attack. But I am revolted by this response which has killed so many civilians no matter what the justification!” That doesn’t seem an irrational response.
I’d like to ask a simple question. In the US at the moment there is a substantial grouping in the population who believe they have the legitimate right to be regarded as the native people of the country even if they have not been there as long as some other groups. They also believe that they are being displaced by more recent immigrants who are imposing an alien religious and cultural authority on the nation. Call them right wing, MAGA, tea party Republicans, whatever. Basically this is what has happened to the Palestinians. And yet there seems very little sympathy for them among this group. Instead they are supported by those who believe in open borders, internationalism and cultural diversity. This seems rather contradictory. Why is it?
Considering the alternative candidate, an elderly man with a poor memory sounds a good thing.
