   I agree that most people are aware that increased population and improvements in living standards all increase energy demand, but it appears to me that most of the environmental charities and activist groups spend their efforts attacking energy production as if people will give up their SUV’s, trucks, travel, clothing and gadgets just because the price is higher. Why not increase efficient travel methods like trains and improve driver training and enforcement so others won’t feel the need to drive giant vehicles for safety.The worst effect of cutting oil & gas production in the free world is significantly improving the ability of Russia and Iran to finance their wars against Ukraine and Israel.

   Most environmentalists ignore the elephant in the room, the fact that there are too many people on this planet. As we improve lives with modern conveniences/transportation and try to feed the huge numbers, we degrade the climate, the air and water quality, we reduce the habitable land for humans, birds, animals and fish, and we poison the soil and groundwater. This leads to huge migrations, political and violent conflict. Attacks on the supply of energy products are useless if demand is not reduced. Efficiencies can slow the problems but not solve them.

   They keep reporting that Trump is just being Trump and trying to make a deal when he talks about Panama, Greenland and Canada. Or that he is just joking. The ultimate test of his authoritarianism will be any future attempt to fire all the Generals in the Armed Forces. Alternatively he may just be trying to stick to form and make sure his current term will be a failure like his first term and all of his businesses.

   DT is a straight forward conman. He never built a wall that was even a tenth of what Clinton built, Mexico didn’t pay for any of it, he did not deport as many illegals as either Obama or Biden, he never had a healthcare policy, he puts secret service up at his hotels and resorts at high prices, he forces foreign dignitaries to stay at his hotels. I could go on, but if anyone believes that Trump had anything much to do with the economy he inherited in his first term then they will believe that he will lower food and other prices by putting tariffs on imports THAT Americans will pay.

   Morton Downey Jr. appears to be the kind of ugly American that can still capture an audience by being obnoxious! But even he admitted that he had duped kids into smoking and he became an avid anti-tobacco activist, but probably had little effect because of his lies and nasty behaviour. It is embarrassing to actual stars to give him a star on the Palm Springs sidewalk.

   I would prefer to drive a small car rather than my 13 year old SUV, but I have concerns about all the people in SUVs, pickup trucks and electric vehicles that weigh as much as a pickup truck who have licences but can’t drive even when they aren’t texting!

    If you want to play any sport well you have to work at it. One of the nice things about golf is that as long as you aren’t rude or incredibly slow, it doesn’t matter to anyone else what you shoot as a score. Unlike team events where you can let everyone down and really feel bad!
