I use celery, cooked for the flavor in just about everything, from soups and pot roasts to spaghetti sauce and casseroles.I like it raw, plain, spread with peanut butter, and dipped in ranch, blue cheese dressing or pretty much any flavor of dip. Raw, it is the perfect crunchy snack.
I certainly agree that the last book was terrible. It just made me mad. I originally read the entire series in paperback (loaned to me by a friend) including that last book, but when I purchased the set for my Kindle, I disliked the ending of the final book so much that I would not purchase it.
One of my favorite series is also The Joe Grey mysteries. The author wrote a series of 21 books about a group of talking cats and the people around them that knew their secret. Shirley Rousseau Murphy wrote the last book in her 90s!! and the stories were so well thought out and beautifully descriptive and well written that you come away believing that cats can talk.
Another mystery series with cats is The Cat Who… by Lilian Jackson Braun. Equally well written. Koko and Yum Yum do not talk but are instrumental in helping their person in solving crimes.
