Genes go awry. They mutate. Just because you have a dick, doesn’t mean that genetically you are a “dude”. You might be a female — or just a wimp.

  2. 4 months ago on Joe Heller

The cop didn’t know what kind of party, not knowing anything about the driver’s beliefs. So he used the general term “holiday party”. The driver said, “No [it wasn’t a HOLIDAY party], it was a Christmas party”. Since all Christmas parties are holiday parties, the cop reworded the DUI to make a point — that the driver totally missed.

Drives me nuts that this strip is written by a man. Especially when he writes stuff like this. Is he really making fun of women? I just don’t know how to take it.

Pools aren’t as refreshing as they sound in very hot weather. They’re like swimming in bath water. Go see a movie.

  5. almost 2 years ago on Red and Rover

That’s what I was thinking. There is no tree around here or in the nearby park that I would even sit under, much less lay down and nap. If there are no ants, there’s poison ivy!

My dad did, too. He learned it in the service during WWII. His lyrics were: Be kind to your web-footed friends / For a duck may be somebody’s mother / Who lives in the woods in the swamp / Where the weather is cold and damp / Now you may think that this is the end / Well it is! (That last line was sung, ending the song abruptly, surprisingly. But not shouted like Mitch Miller did.)

    Spoken like a true Rethuglican.

  8. almost 2 years ago on Nest Heads

“Dressing up” for concerts and plays has suffered, too. Some of us still do.

  9. almost 2 years ago on Ted Rall

Generalizations don’t help: “Russia”, “US” — It’s Putin and certain US leaders. I didn’t want the US to do a lot of the things we’ve done, and the Russians wouldn’t want Putin to do what they’re doing, if they only knew. Put names to all your atrocities. Who actually did it? Stop generalizing.

Say hi to Ted Cruz for me.
