“hold the mayo” is often ignored. And it needs to be said three times.

" ‘just the place for a snark.’ the bellman said. ‘There, I have said it thrice. What I tell you three times is true!’ "

    Ahhhh, the “bus stop” discussion:

Board of directors discusses and approves a multi-million dollar expansion in 5 minutes then spends an hour with no decision discussing whether to put a $100 shelter around the bus stop in front of the facility.

A lifetime motto of mine is, “I’d rather enjoy a short life than be miserable in a long one.” I’ve made it past 80 and still enjoying, so I’m not sure it’s a real choice.

Profits are improved by volume as well as per unit price. Prices are forced down by competitors looking for buyers. More laying chickens, more eggs, lower prices.

If you think egg farmers are making a profit off selling fewer eggs you are badly mistaken. They’ve been devastated.

“Emboxening” IS a word when Marigold uses it. Especially if it’s to emboxen a room. Magic needs those ten dollar words and a 5 letter word like “embox” just won’t do.

As ARE faster but not humanly noticeable unless reception is weak. They move processing power off the servers and that’s cheaper for the vendor. Perhaps most importantly they are more secure. So I’ll agree they exist for a purpose I don’t think, in most cases (like pizza vendors or almost any retail outlet). They are worth the problems.

There’s a game of statistics here and a less than informative game at that. Spervolcanoes and asteroid impacts are not very likely but when they happen they kill more people. In any case you are much more likely to die of a heart attack, cancer, auto accident, … any number of other things. You are 100% guaranteed to die of something.
