Anymore if the news source doesn’t agree with your preconceive notions then they are liars. It doesn’t matter if you are conservative or liberal.

I plan to wait until 70.

We had one in my Fraternity. We owned the macchine. Coke, Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Brand X (aka Old Style Beer), not sure the other 2 slots. 35¢ a can.

I wouldn’t say I did it to be competitive. I did it to stay in shape to referee soccer.

Avocado or lime green? Ours was black.

Funny on Celsius CA being cold. I disagree on Americans not using kilometers. I have ran in a number of 5k and 10k’s in my younger days, and our military uses klicks as distance measurements quite extensively. I wonder what all those k’s mean?

I spent a lot of time trying and eventually learning the British monetary system and was really pi$$ed or should I say in a £ather when they changed it to a decimal system. I thought it quaint and a vestige of the greatness of the British Empire. It showed a certain arrogance, we are in charge and we don’t care what you think of how we parse out our currency. Americans are still of that mindset when it comes to the metric system in general. At least I still get to use the knowledge when reading historical novels involving GB. Maybe it just here that we don’t use decimals when giving Celsius readings.

Maybe he should put Spanish, French, and German translations with it too.

  9. 1 day ago on Wallace the Brave

That was a Saturday night staple at the movie theater in the 70’s.

Lol. Yes there are limitations. Adherents to the metric system sometimes push it like they are proselytizing religion. For measurements of terrestrial distance, units of volume, the size of nuts and bolts, metric makes sense. But in the end most systems of measurement have some drawbacks and nothing is a universal fit. It is all arbitrary and ultimately what you get used to.
