“The swarm of America includes the vast class of illiterates. They dislike ideas, for ideas make them uncomfortable. What they are interested in is drama. The thing must be presented to them as a form of simple combat, with one side clearly right and the other clearly wrong. No one in this world, has ever lost money by underestimating the intelligence of the great masses of the plain people. Nor has anyone ever lost public office thereby.”

“When did “Al” become his last name and Goodwyn his first name…or are you now alphabetizing comic creators by first names?" : thelordthygod666

Hey kids, wanna become famous? Have your name and face on national TV news and cable news channels for weeks! Do a school shooting. We in the media love school shootings because it gets us more viewers which mean more ad dollars, so we highlight them to death (clever, huh). Sure, if we did not mention them and left the reporting to boring old newspapers and local stations, there might be fewer ones, but we’re in the entertainment business and school shootings are great entertainment!

Anymore whenever I watch a movie about an Earth destroying asteroid heading towards us, I cheer for the asteroid.

That’s not surprising. we tend to gloss over the bad memories. It’s called wearing nostalgia blinders,

Historians will note the decline of America began with the loss of prestige due to bungled efforts to master Iraq/Afghanistan, accelerated when Trump was elected in 2016, and became inevitable with the collapse of the GOP and results of the 2024 election.

A line I use in my talks is “saying it’s 2023 when it’s 2024 is not evidence of impairment, believing it’s 1964 is reason for concern”. Biden’s memory lapses are probably not an indication of impairment. Even so, Biden is too old. Fluid intelligence begins to decline in our 20s, but takes a big dip by our 70s (the offset provided by crystalized intelligence (wisdom) maxes out in one’s 60s). This has nothing to do with dementia, but it does mean we’re not as sharp as we were in our 50s. Combine this with lower stamina caused by aging and health issues and the likelihood of bad decisions ramps up. For the same reason there is a minimum age limit, there should be a maximum age limit on presidential candidates – and all other politicians….and, please no “but Trump” replies -saying the other candidate also has issues is not a good reason.

Illegal Mexican female immigrants are entering the country with the sole purpose of getting pregnant by some native born American. This interbreeding is crowding out those originally here – especially in the Western States. As we speak, the influx of female Mexican spadefoot toads has reached as far north as Montana. *All intelligent people understand this is a satirical comment on border issues using a real science article of an amphibian infiltration. Sadly, I so embarrassed one of the commenters when I pointed this out he complained and had the original post removed.
