Personally, I took no issue with Western animation deriving stylistic elements from their Eastern counterparts or vice versa as it’s a natural byproduct of globalization. That said, I do think there are too many animators trying to imitate anime in a way that even most Western-inspired anime don’t, which is a valid point of concern.
