I have a sketch I did years ago of the western edge of the world, where dedicated monks gather each evening to watch the sun disappear. They often speculate about where it goes. They have very little contact these days with the distant eastern monks, but they hear plenty of rumours. I have no idea whether the eastern monks even survive, never having visited them. Maybe one day.
Mum used to have enough trouble just getting three kids to a school a mile away – dunno how she would have managed with half a dozen of them going miles and miles and with alarms going off as well!
How is it that, now that I’m going through this strip for the third time, I STILL see one’s I’ve never seen before? I’m sure I wouldn’t have forgotten this one.
I must have had a deprived childhood – I’ve never seen one of these, although I get the idea.
