   I LIKE Luanntime. It lets the characters stay in college mode a lot longer. Gives more time for growth, etc. which they ALL so desperately need—-not just Luann. Luann has no flaws other than she is messy and doesn’t know exactly what she wants to do with her life right now. So many of the others have far more serious flaws.

   It’s good to say Where do you see yourself in 5 years? But rarely do people make a plan at 19 and stick to it. Life will take you in many directions. Be prepared to embrace it if it suits your needs and, most importantly, if it will provide you with a self sustaining income.

   In Luanntime they are still 19. Sort of a never ending sophomore year for all of them in order to stretch out their college experience. I went to college to teach art originally but my passion was to do art and writing. I knew it would be difficult to make a living doing that so teaching was my bread and butter money. Since then I’ve taught, freelanced as a writer and cartoonist, worked in the coal mining and metal working industry and done a lot of other things. You never know where life will take you so be prepared to be flexible and open to all its opportunities!

   And it’s a shame he took her in that direction. Letting her have a serious boyfriend is perfectly appropriate at this stage of her life.
