I’ve had a college age girl watching my pets for a week at a time a couple times a year for the past 5 yrs and there have been no problems other than the time she locked herself out of the house after work and had to go back to work and search the parking lot for keys. The dogs could hear her outside and were freaking out.
I think by “is that it;who was the real killer, etc” is the same thing I experience. They get a good show and want to keep it going so they just start opening stupid plotlines and not finishing them or making them so improbable that you just quit watching
I see this as the start of a beautiful friendship
