That was for home delivery by motor route. Service was bad. Every few weeks, I would just not get a paper, though they’d give me a credit.

My hometown newspaper had a morning and afternoon edition. Great reporting staff. I always liked the afternoon edition because it had some news of events that happened during the day. Where I’ve lived the past 27 years, they also had an AM and PM paper. Then the afternoon one ceased. After a while, I went to a Sunday only subscription, since there was hardly any real news in the daily, mostly advertising. What news it had was always a day or two after what I had seen online. When they raised the subscription price for Sunday only to over $45 a month, I said forget it. I’m not going to pay more than $10 for a paper with hardly any real reporting that’s mostly advertising and reprinted stories from Gannet.

Yeah, wife and I keep getting spam texts claiming that our Netflix account has been suspended due to a problem. We don’t have any Netflix accounts.

Ewww! I tried escargot once decades ago at a French restaurant. Like chewing warm buttered rubber bands. Never again.

Yeah, about 10 years ago, I was almost home from work about a mile away. A freak storm came up and what later was determined to be an EF-0 tornado passed over and through our neighborhood. Tore a big section of shingles off of our roof. It ripped trim off of a lot of houses, blew down a couple of stockade fences, flipped over an SUV at the park at the end of our street. Wife called me when it passed over our house. “Everything was swirling around on our back patio.” That’s the closest I ever want to be to a tornado.

They shouldn’t have left the pans on the stove.
