Yes, it’s Brezhnev, but it’s definitely not “taken from the portrait that appears in Brezhnev’s Wikipedia page”, since Wikipedia was not around at the time the comic was written. :-)
What is untrue about what he said? From the oldest written book of the Bible, Job (who lived at the time of Abraham): “For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at last he will stand upon the earth; and after my skin has been thus destroyed, then from my flesh I shall see God, whom I shall see on my side, and my eyes shall behold, and not another. My heart faints within me!” This is prophetic not only of Jesus’ Resurrection, but also of the final resurrection of the bodies of all men.
“Now if Christ be preached that he rose from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?… if Christ be not raised, … ye are yet in your sins….If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.” (from I Corinthians 15; it would do well for all of us to read that whole chapter today.)
Hopefully BC won’t be thor about this.
