You are so right … and I got another “lesson in awareness” this afternoon; I went outside briefly to collect the mail. Shortly after I got back inside, I got hit with a sudden asthma attack. Whee!
I’m aware of some of that, and use it to help control my asthma (and arthritis); certain foods cause more inflammation, while others help inhibit it – I try to keep myself on the “inhibitor-rich” side of the ledger, as it just makes life easier.
I hadn’t noticed any correlation with migraines, but that may just mean I hadn’t connected all the dots.
I’ll bear that in mind … between asthma, arthritis, and migraines, life certainly does have its “moments” … and the last time I resorted to an antihistamine to try and deal with some seasonal allergies, I had a serious reaction to them!
Please give your senior girl some loving cuddles from me and Akiro – he’s become more demanding of attention in his senior years, too.
If you are worried that she isn’t eating enough, offer her some wet food that is really smelly (tuna, for instance) – as cats age, their sense of smell often dwindles; very aromatic foods can tempt them to eat a bit more.
Don’t bother calling Tortimer; the cats are doing a great job all by themselves (for now). Most of us know from prior experiences that there will be more clean ups required in the near future; Tortimer should avoid those, too.
A friend had a similar problem – cats that liked to sleep on her keyboard while she is working from home. It’s very difficult to type through a solid layer of cats.
To solve the problem, she purchased an inexpensive keyboard riser … which she placed OVER the keyboard. Now, the cats have a new surface to sleep on, and when she needs the keyboard, she can just slide it out from under the riser. When she’s reading a document, it goes back underneath the riser; either way, the cats remain undisturbed.
