Mom was a teacher for decades, so we always put up the tree only after the school semester was over. It didn’t feel like a holiday while there were still schoolkids tiring her out!
Also putting my hand up to being allergic to real trees. I didn’t realize how much – although my known and nasty cedar pollen allergy should have tipped me off – until I was babysitting for a family who’d gone all-out with their big fancy nice fresh tree. By the time their parents came home, I was in bad shape.
(I continued to babysit for that family, but if it was Christmas season, I stayed out of the living room as much as possible!)
Shoveling the snow, dusting the trees, cleaning off any bird or squirrel debris, and selling them!
…the trees. Not the squirrels. Although you can try your luck with that if you want.
